Cooperative
Oliver-Mercer Electric Cooperative is a distribution electric utility serving customers in Oliver and Mercer counties since 1948. Headquartered in Hazen, North Dakota. Oliver-Mercer Electric serves more than 2700 members, providing electric service to over 3600 meters. We own 1770 miles of distribution and transmission lines across the two counties.
As a cooperative, we are owned by the members we serve and are governed by a six-member Board of Directors who are elected by the membership.
Oliver-Mercer Electric is a member of Basin Electric Power Cooperative, our major power supplier. We also purchase power from Western Area Power Administration. We belong to the nationwide network of cooperatives known as Touchstone Energy Partners.
Our business is operated by a staff of 19 full-time employees. Besides electricity, we offer a variety of other services.
