On Sunday, June 13, 1948, was the first-ever outage. This was due to an airplane performing in an air show at the M.C. Schow farm, hooking a 7,200-volt transmission line.
Total kilowatt-hours sold to consumers in June 1948 was 7,571. Number of consumers was 66.
Number of minimum bills was 10.
October 1948, consumers had the option to prepay $50 to $100 for electric bills. This option saved the co-op a lot of time and money for bookkeeping purposes.
Average farm consumption was 185 kilowatt-hours (KWH) per month, non-farm consumption was 94 KWH and commercial was 128 KWH. In December 1948, 150 consumers were billed.
1949
At the annual meeting in 1949, Oliver-Mercer members were provided free coffee and doughnuts but members had to bring their own lunch. A business meeting was held and there was entertainment and door prizes.
